Hello and Welcome! from the Japan Festival Team
Welcome to the blog page. Here we’ll be sharing more behind the scenes from the planning stages of the event, and we’ll also be sharing staff interviews, as well as team member blog posts.
Our team consists of Yuki, Yumi, and myself- Kei. I’m a third year student at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. I’m majoring in Ceramics, and I dabble in wood, glass, and photography. For Japan Festival, i’m part of the Marketing and Logistics team, and the Social Media and Website team. I’ll be posting here regularly with behind the scenes.
To tell you more about myself, I am a artist, potter, sculptor, and generally involved person, especially with communities surrounding Japan Festival as well as artists and craftspeople. I Joined Japan Festival’s organizing team because I wanted to help develop a stronger sense of community between Japanese students studying abroad here in Boston, as well as connect long-term resident students with the Japanese community. I also was motivated by my past experiences volunteering at the festival in the past, beginning in 2012, through the Japanese Language School of Greater Boston.
I am honored to be able to be a part of the organizing committee for my second year, and I hope to bring as much behind the scenes and off-shots as possible!
