  • Yes, the festival is rain or shine. As long as it is safe to do so, the festival will continue! As of now, there are no plans to cancel either day. But if for some reason we must cancel due to weather, we will post it on our homepage and across social media.

  • Yes! Boston Common is a public park and requires all events hosted there to be free and open to the public. So not only is Japan Festival Boston free, but so are all festivals/events hosted in the park.

  • Please refer to the Boston Parks policy on dogs. Japan Festival Boston is hosted in a public park (Boston Common) and so all rules on animals are set by the Boston Parks and Recreation department.

  • Booth applications generally open around December or January each year and the applications are on our website under the “Applications” tab. If you don’t see an Applications tab, then applications are not currently open.
