The 2026 Japan Festival Boston will once again be hosted at the historic Boston Common on Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th. Below, we have gathered all the information you could want about this year’s festival, from stage performers to food vendors and so much more!
Cosplay
This year there will be a Cosplay Fashion Show and Cosplay Death Match.
Stage Events
We have multiple performers lined up for the Main Stage and Downtown Outdoor Stage, as well as contests, raffles, and more!

As with last year, we are heavily focusing on sustainability. By partnering with sustainability sponsors, recycling festival garbage, and educating our guests, we hope to make our festival environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Yes, the festival is rain or shine. As long as it is safe to do so, the festival will continue! If for some reason we must cancel due to weather, we will post it on our homepage and across social media.

Yes! Boston Common is a public park and requires all events hosted there to be free and open to the public. So not only is Japan Festival Boston free, but so are all festivals/events hosted in the park.

Please refer to the Boston Parks policy on dogs. Japan Festival Boston is hosted in a public park (Boston Common) and so all rules on animals are set by the Boston Parks and Recreation department.

Booth applications generally open around December or January each year and the applications are on our website under the “Applications” tab. If you don’t see an Applications tab, then applications are not currently open.
Please understand that only booths with a connection to Japanese culture will be accepted. -
